In a recent interview entitled “Young prospective trustees are ‘put off by charity sector elitism”, The Civil Society explore the concept of appointing young trustees and the challenges they face in the Charity Sector.
We asked Melanie Cusack Client Director and head of PTL’s Specialist Charity Unit what her thoughts on young Trustee are: -
“Trustees tend to volunteer for a cause close to their hearts. Not a lot of young people have experienced the trauma of cancer or stroke. However, charities addressing concerns of young people tend to have young trustees. Age is irrelevant – it is the purpose of the charity that influences the trustee demographic.”
